Made for To Jam 2024: "It's supposed to do that"

Two players mess around in a level to figure out what they are supposed to do by watching a two progress bars meet eachother at the top. Each level is accompanied with a cheesy quote about teamwork and friendship.

Takeaway: There is never a way to know what players will be thinking unless you PLAYTEST.

Made for Game Makers Tool Kit Game Jam 2024: "Made to Scale"

Help Froq reach for the stars in this puzzle platformer where you platforms into the environment, scaling them up or down, to help Froq reach the stars, making what seems out of reach into a possibility!

Takeaway: Communicating between roles. Our design ended up pretty mismatched because the code followed a level format the level designers did not know of.

Made for Brackey's Game Jam 2024: "Made to Scale"

Row your boat to the rhythm of the waves to stay afloat. Inspired by Matthew 8:23-27 and how we should be making sure we don't panic so the storm is easier to take on when it comes.

Takeaway: Team charters are important documents to make sure each role is being taken care of by its rightful owner. Without a charter and governing, decisions are hard to make and justify.

Made for Sheridan's Design week Game Jam of Winter 2024: Micromix

Mircrogame design challenge created with a group of game design students with various levels of experience at Sheridan College.

Takeaway: When working in a team of two artists, it is important, not just to communicate aesthetic style, but also details like line density, framerate. The importance of those distinctions also need to be properly convinced.

Made for Sheridan's Design week Game Jam of Fall 2023: Minecraft level based off poems.

The Tyger by William Blake is a poem about being in awe of the Creator and His creation. Walking through this Minecraft level should evoke that sense of awe, drawing from imagery present in the poem.

Takeaway: Minecraft is a good space to practice blocking out levels as well as pixel art principles.
